Why is there a BBC News Special about the snow on? When it Snows in Scotland and the North of England, they don't make a special programme?? My point being that: everything centres on the South of England especially London. A news special is usually something that involves the whole country.... The news doesn't tell you how to deal with snow, just that there is snow, lots of it in one part of the country. A Scottish DJ has just summed it up. Schools down south were closed last night in preparation for the snow?? Schools in Scotland only close when they absolutely have to. There is more to England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland than one city. I am fed up of everything revolving around the South. Even the blooming weather forecast misses Yorkshire out.

Why do we always get bad news from the media? In England Television and newspapers always headline knife crime and murders, in Germany its child neglect and youth services and i am sure in France or whatever its something else. I honestly cant be asked to read the news anymore as they make me depressed. It sounds like our society is at the brink of collapse which of course (in my view) is not helping at all. Sure those things like child neglect and youth crime need to be highlighted but do they have to dominate our news every single fkucing day? It seems that the news is too heavily concentrating on war, crime, murder, drugs and accidents. I mean why should i care in London if someone in Scotland has a car accident??????? Thats not news. People have fatal car accidents every day. Just an example of a daily topic on the BBC. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/highlands_and_islands/7515315.stm Do you honestly think the world/country we live in is as bad as the media portrays it?

In Tollcross Park Leisure Centre on Friday morning that fightback crumbled under the force of an SNP-inspired "political earthquake". The party's John Mason did the unthinkable and took one of Labour's safest seats - overturning a majority of 13,500 with a swing of 22%. Now the aftershocks are set to resonate all the way to Downing Street. Yet it all seemed so unlikely right up until polling day. But Tony Woodley, joint leader of the Unite union, said a changing leader was "not the solution" to Labour's woes. why does the news always concentrate on the negative side of everything? The news always seems bad and i think its because they will always look for the negative in every story. For example latest figures show that in the UK we are starting to drink and smoke less (surely a positive) but instead the BBC have decided to concentrate on the fact that men drink more than women and we drink more in England than in Wales or Scotland. why do they insist on emphasising the negative, is this why 90% of the discussions on this website are negative?
Should Scotland Be Independent from the UK ? Well the feeling in Scotland is stronger than ever, that the only way to build our countries economy and public voice in the world is if we are left to govern ourselves. For people that dont know, the UK labour run government is hitting us with propoganda that Scotland couldnt afford to go it on its own... I thought the UK was a democracy government. Shouldnt the politicians stop squabbling and let the PEOPLE of Scotland decide on their future. Scotland's pro-union political parties have announced details of the commission to re-examine devolution, a decade after it came about. The commission - which will not examine independence - has been given the task with reviewing devolution and recommending changes to enable the Scottish Parliament to better serve the people and "continue to secure the position of Scotland in the United Kingdom". http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/7313586.stm http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/let-scotland-decide.html Please sign the Petition Well that is the POINT !! No one takes any notice in us... The UK only benefits England and we all know it. And as for the SNP not wanting the people to vote incase they lose ??? They are already in POWER and are doing everything they can so that the people of Scotland can finally get the chance to decide for themselves.... Why hasnt this happened before ??? Because everyone knows exactly what scottish people want... Take a look at Kosovo, Norway and other small independent countries... Why is it they can decide on their future and we cant.. ?? Its as if Scottish people arent good enough. Im not saying that Scotland should be indepedent because some of us want it... Thats where i am trying to explain that the best way to solve this, is to have a Referendum so that every Scot can decide for themselves... Only then can we see what everyone wants.... WHY ISNT THIS HAPPENING ????
Don't you think this is a shameful way for the MOD to treat a soldier? http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotland/north_east/7598445.stm I think it is utterly disgusting! Agreed Barbamatt; it should be the same in Britain. then again the average british soldier is treated as a second class citizen ( just look at some of these answers and you will see the disrespect)
Why is so much attention put on just the Maddie case? Fact - Madeleine is missing (god bless her), and many others too. On Scottish TV the other night http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotland/tayside_and_central/6910848.stm - they returned from a shopping trip and turned their back for a minute whilst unloading the car and tragedy struck. So many people chastising the McCanns but how about all the other cases. Would you be prepared to "chip" your child so he/she could be tracked in the event they wandered off or were snatched For those who consider it only a theory, the idea of tagging or chipping your child was indeed discussed on tv the other night. It is a real technological possibility either with the same tags as used on prisoners or by subcutaneous implant. I dont know whether I would have been willing to tag my kids when they were small but thankfully nothing tragic befell them.
When will the USAF learn that the handlebar moustache is not open for discussion? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/north_east/7451939.stm What a strange article, what next nose hair regulations? Views tvm.
how does a racist killer with a fascination for guns get into the british army anyway ? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/north_east/7465621.stm the "respect for others " value must not rate very highly in the recruitment interviews.
Should employers who use illegal immigrants face severe fines? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/glasgow_and_west/7500964.stm 'Individual employees, who were found to have approved illegal activity, could also have their industry licences penalised.' Why could?
If humans were meant to eat meat? isn't it a shame they couldn't design a meat industry capable of making use of it ....a quarter of a million perfectly healthy lambs to be incinerated, or used as bio-diesel...... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/7035225.stm Starve them to death, or incinerate them...what a shameful world we live in. My question being......what part of "the meat industry treats animals well" is this ? "Miss TT"'s answer suggests a similar attitude adn hardly presnts any sensible answer. Bare in mind that this entire episode is only due to political decisions. There is no conceivable chance of Sheep movement in Scotland spreading an outbreak of foot and mouth in Surrey. The system is just saying " these animals are worthless" A top contributor in "Fashion and Accessories".....I didn't really need to check that, did i - i could have guessed. "it wasn't always like this".....thats exactly the point, meat eaters need to take responsiblity for the CURRENT situation, not winge about people caring for animals. As for the comment on us "ALL" spending a lot of money of artificial meat-replacement products....that assumption is just so way off mark its bnot really worth argueing with..such a daft, shallow stereotyping. Whats your thinking here...Is it "Fake meat is expensiver and therefore its ok to slaughter 0.25 million sheep for no reason" ?? Jerry, if we "needed" meat then all vegetarians would die, wouldn't they ?? This questino is not about being a predator, or being designed to eat meat. Its about the mis-treatment of animals.

Have you had your morning laugh yet at the new govt initiative over drugs? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/7424244.stm Oh look its magic wand time again. More debating, dear gods get on and target the dealers first, remove it from our streets and then deal with the residual problems. Views please.
What chance do children stand in Scotland...? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/tayside_and_central/7202970.stm QUOTE - "Sheriff Wyllie Robertson granted the wide-ranging order which was requested by the local force's chief constable Mr Cameron. The order bans the former computer programmer from using a camera, mobile phone or any other equipment that can take pictures; from having any access to the Internet except in relation to employment, and then only with the permission of his bosses and the chief constable. Not in court It also bans him from having contact with anyone under 18; from entering any area used predominantly by children; and from being in any house where a child is present. He must also obtain the approval of the chief constable before taking any job, and cannot use or hire any car or motor vehicle without notifying the police." UNQUOTE Re Nettie UK I understand what you're saying about not highlighting this sort of news reporting, but, things like this NEED to be openly discussed in public, because by sweeping it under the carpet, such liberal and mediocre "law & order" will be allowed to continue, and this might be the tip of the iceberg... ie at the moment it goes on in Scotland... how long before it creeps down over the borders to the rest of UK..... or before the other devolved Govts of Wales and Northern Ireland start using such "law & order"?... Thin edge of wedge springs to mind, and keeping it swept away under the carpet is NOT the answer I'm afraid. You should be SHOUTING IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS BEFORE ANY MORE CHILDREN... I repeat CHILDREN are subjected to be abused by such adults in this manner !! If my view offends your sensibility - I appologise to YOU... but please... don't sit by and shut your mind off to such inadequate "law & order"... YOU have a local MP...write to him..
Do you think that Multiculturalism is wonderful? Please read this article. http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/mpapps/pagetools/email/news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotland/glasgow_and_west/6123014.stm Can these people be trusted in your countries? Use this link instead: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotland/glasgow_and_west/6123014.stm Three people ganging up on one child is far too much. There's not a one rational head between the three? To me it's just an example of the hatred of White Westerners Most Muslims have. Get out of the countries you seem to resent so much. That's the problem with so many radical Islamists, they like to target innocent civilians. Why does the UK breed so many terrorists? **among** the three gets..: you give an example of how confused and wrong-headed the religion of political correctness is. I am in fact NOT as bad because I would not burn someone ALIVE. THat is the difference between us and them if you haven't noticed. They didn't burn him because they stereotyped him you nit-wit, he could have been anyone because they hate ALL of us. There is no reasoning or sympathising with them, any innocent infidel is the enemy. They would kill babies, they knew this kid wasn't guilty of anything...how could he be? like he said, "what could I have done, I'm only 15". You see, these people LIKE killing innocent white people. --Face it, they are taking you over from within, feeding and cozying up to the beast only means he might eat you last, but he will eventually eat you. Being called "racist" --LOL is no threat or insult to me. It's a joke. You bow to the religion of PC with blind faith and with illogical self -destruction. it will ultimately be all your demise.
