Maradona?...Not a good sport...nasty sad little cheating man?

I'm an Englishman, just seen the news on telly about this person.Seen too the Scotsmen who love and respect this man. Let me tell you Scotland. We ...the English are your friends. Not Argentina. We are your backer.I am ...I love Scotland and would (DO)support them to do well in each World Cup.Sincerley I love the Scottish,Irish and Welsh. We have achieved much in this world so do rebuke these people who love to see a cheat beat a good honest English side as in 1986. Winning is from within...not in glorious cups or titles. I dont know about 1966.I was not there but I see in those players like Bobby Moore and his team mates greatness and honour. Please dont support Maradona...he's no good to you.I have seen great Scottish teams...I will always wish Scotland well. We are the British and that is great in itself.

  1. but as a football lover? maradona played the game beutifully, he had a god given gift...an utter genius who you would pay to watch. he's a hero, not for the "hand of god" goal, but for his other goal in the same match...surely anyone can see that that goal encapsulates everything that is great about the game? the hand of god stuff is a wind up. and anyway is he the only player to have used his hand?
  2. Maradonna was probably the greatest player of his generation despite the hand ball
  3. The people who have made Maradona the star he still is today are the officials who should have ruled against him when his hand touched the ball, and then all that happened after would never have been.
  4. I respect what he has achieved but it's questionable whether he deserves the praise he gets. He has actually admitted he cheated and claimed that God had a part to play in it therefore deeming it valid somehow. I was reading today in the Daily Mail that Napoli removed his name from test requests and team sheets because they knew he took drugs and they sanctioned his behaviour. They let him carry on with his lifestyle and even recommend days in which to do it but they told him to avoid the coke on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday to allow it to clear his system before the post match tests. I think that's quite an admission. Yes, the Scottish are free to admire who they want, but to admire this man for cheating just makes them look too desperate to sing the praise of anyone who gets one over the English (their supposed enemy somehow). They like to joke about it, i suppose it's the closest they will get to any kind of victory in the World Cup. I often wonder, why do they hate us so much? I watch certain Scottish games and want them to do well, as well as the Welsh. I think they would do good to actually cheer on the England as in the long run it's better than cheering for a cheating Argentinian. Yes, you're right, people talk about us and say our only great sporting acheivement was in 1966, well that's because those players were truly great iconic players......they got there with true determination and courage.
  5. first of all us scots will support Scotland tomorrow and i will want England to beat Germany. We respect him cause he is a legend that other goal against England was one of the best i have seen.
  6. maradona is a cheat and a coke headed loon long live his basketball career
  7. That bloody 'Hand of god' aside, the man is a legend I watched him dance through the England midfield and defence in '86 like they were made of stone. Sheer joy to watch someone who obviously adores the game- a pleasure.
  8. Oh dear,I fear we're going to disagree! As a proud Scots girl and football fan I look upon the infamous "hand of God" incident in a jokingly light hearted way, as do many of my fellow Scots. Having a little giggle at the "Auld Enemy" is a little light hearted banter that we all enjoy, there is no malice intended. However, in spite of the fact that Maradona blatantly cheated, he was undoubtedly one of the greatest players of his generation, and I hold him in great respect for that. As a fan of the game of football, he was a joy to watch.
  9. let tell you something, im american but i was raised in latin america near argentina. I think the man is a "A%$%. even Some argentines think the same. As a soccer player yeah he might be good but as a PERSON he is a garbage. I remember an interview in which maradona made fun of a guy who couldnt have kids, he is also arrogant and thinks he is the best. you can have talent and still be a piece of sh.i.t .
  10. yeah hes a bastard everyone thinks he is better than pele just because he scored a goal with his hand and now he thinks he can take the world on. He is also gonna get fired as Argentina's manager
