  1. don't know about scotland, but probably ballpark figure here in states...8500 to 12500 an hour...and i'll bet i'm low balling it. pretty absurd huh? we're starting to charge in some cases for idiotic behavior now but most of these idiots don't have any money or they'd be out working instead of what they are doing.
  2. You apparently didn't read your own link. "Warning AFTER avalanche deaths" The helicopters were also on manouvers in the area, and who pays for that...oh yeah...you with your taxes. Sounds like they got to put their training into action, and isn't that what we pay them for.
  3. I dont know why we English provide any services for the Scots with our Airforce. Havnt the Scots got their own Parliament and Tax raising measures
  4. Yes, these people are utterly irresponsible, at the end of the day anyone with an ounce of sense would take heed of the severe weather warnings, the imeceles should be billed for the cost of the rescue !
  5. Without being too harsh, I have to admit that every time we hear of climbers having to be rescued I think about the fact that they are not only using valuable resources but also endangering the people that have to go to rescue them. These people are incredibly selfish & in my opinion stupid. To go climbing in the Scottish mountains at any time of year is dangerous but to go in winter is just asking for trouble. I suspect it is you & I, the taxpayer, that has to fund these rescues.
